Nevada regulations: details

Copied from the state’s website on September 21, 2026. Check the official page before you rely on a rule.

What is here

  • 45,486 entries from the 408 chapter pages the Legislative Counsel Bureau lists, plus its Repealed and Replaced table. Every page loaded.
  • The bureau’s website prints “Copyright © by State of Nevada All rights reserved.” We show that as the state states it.
  • 30,578 entries carry rule text: the sections the chapters print.
  • The other 14,908 carry no text here. 67 are numbers a chapter prints as “Replaced in revision by NAC ...”, and 14,841 are listed only in the Repealed and Replaced table. Each comes back with its status exactly as printed. A replacement number is shown as printed, never looked up or swapped in.
  • 22 sections are printed twice, each with its own effective-date label. Both come back, and we never say which one applies.
  • Each entry carries its chapter’s Revised Date as the page prints it (month and year). It is not a statement that the rule is current. The date on each entry is the day we copied it.

How we checked it

  • Two programs written separately read all 408 chapter pages and the table and agreed on every field of every entry.
  • We drew 700 entries at random under a plan frozen before the test. Every check it named passed.
  • 150 sections were compared against the adopted-regulation files in the Nevada Register. 117 matched. Each of the 25 that differed was read: 23 were the reviser’s own edits when the rule was codified, and 2 were the checking tool. None was a copying error of ours.
  • A person read 150 entries against their pages and found none wrong. At that sample size the true error rate could still be as high as 2.5%.

What it can't tell you

  • Whether a rule is current, valid or in force.
  • Which of a section’s two printed versions applies to you.
  • Which is right where a chapter and the Repealed and Replaced table disagree.

Known gaps

  • 624 sections contain tables, stored as plain text in reading order. 55 contain images we do not copy; NAC 384.150 is only an image (a map) and has no text.
  • Reviser’s notes (1,994 paragraphs) are kept apart from rule text and shown with the section they follow.
  • Superscript and subscript are not marked (361 sections).
  • We took one page every two seconds under a name that identifies GLO, and re-read the site’s robots file before every run.

Notes you may see on an entry

  • 14,908 repealed or replaced numbers: “No rule text. The chapter or the Repealed and Replaced table shows this number as printed here.”
  • 22 sections printed twice: “Nevada prints this section twice with different effective-date labels. Both are returned; we do not say which applies.”
  • 624 sections with tables: “This section contains a table stored as plain text. Check the layout on the state’s page.”
  • NAC 384.150: “Printed only as an image (a map) we do not hold. No text is served.”
  • 3 sections printed live but listed as repealed: “The table also lists this section. Both are shown as printed; we do not say which is right.”
  • 3 numbers where the chapter and the table disagree: “The chapter and the table say different things. Both are shown as printed.”
  • A lookup of NRS: “That is Nevada statute law, not the Administrative Code. The lookup says so rather than returning nothing.”
  • A lookup of a chapter number: ““NAC 213” is a chapter, not a section. The lookup says so rather than returning nothing.”

Nothing here is legal advice or a judgment that a rule is in force. Full counts for software: the defect_floor field on every Nevada result (source=nv).
