GLOGood Lookin’ Out
Virginia regulations: details
Copied from the state’s website on September 19, 2026. Check the official page before you rely on a rule.
What is here
- 34,599 entries copied from all 2,027 chapter pages on the Virginia General Assembly’s website. None of those pages failed to load.
- 21,878 are sections. 10,838 are sections the state lists as repealed, and 1,159 are other status notices such as renumbered, reserved or expired. A repealed entry is shown as repealed, never as a rule.
- 505 entries are a chapter’s list of forms and 219 are a list of documents the rules adopt by reference. We keep the list and its links, not the forms or documents.
- 31 listed chapters have no sections at all (29 reserved, 1 repealed, 1 withdrawn when we listed them), so they have no entries here.
How we checked it
- We picked 270 entries at random and read each one again from the state’s own section page. All 270 matched.
- We compared 60 entries with the Virginia Register issue that first printed them. 55 matched, 1 differed slightly, and 4 were Register notices that did not print the text.
- A person read 50 unusual entries line by line against the state’s pages and found 7 problems. The ones that could mislead you carry a note on the entry itself.
- These are samples. They can show a problem exists; they cannot prove there are no others.
What it can't tell you
- Whether a rule is current or in force today. Virginia prints no edition date, and our copy is from one day.
- Whether this is the official edition. It is not; it is a copy.
- “Last change” on an entry is the last Register issue the state printed for that section. It does not promise nothing has changed since.
Known gaps
- On at least 9 entries the state prints the history inside the authority line, so those entries show no last-change date.
- Links to forms and adopted documents may be out of date. The state says so too.
- A few section titles are cut short where the state cut them. The full title is in the text.
Notes you may see on an entry
- 72 entries: “Part of this rule is a picture we don’t carry. Open the official page to see it.”
- 18VAC41-50-15 and 18VAC41-50-125: “The state’s page lists this change as Register Issue 11; the Register itself published it in Issue 8 (December 1, 2025).”
- 4 entries: “The state’s page runs the authority and history lines together here; they are shown as printed.”
- 724 forms and document lists: “Forms and documents are listed with their links; we don’t carry the documents.”
